Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

Introduction

AdventureArchitect ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our tabletop RPG worldbuilding platform.

Data We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: account details (username, email, password hash), world content (worlds, NPCs, locations, campaigns, and other worldbuilding data), and usage data (login times, feature usage). If you sign in via OAuth providers (Google, Discord, Facebook), we receive your name, email, and profile picture from those services. We do not store your OAuth passwords.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: provide and maintain the AdventureArchitect service, authenticate your identity, enable collaboration features (world sharing, campaign invites), send important service notifications, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Audit logs are retained for up to 1 year for security purposes. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed. Content you created in other users' worlds is reassigned to the world owner to preserve their content integrity.

Your Rights

You have the right to: access and export all your data (Settings > Export My Data), correct your personal information (Profile page), delete your account and all associated data (Settings > Delete Account), and withdraw consent at any time. These rights can be exercised directly through the application.

Third-Party Services

We may use the following third-party services: OAuth authentication providers (Google, Discord, Facebook) for sign-in, payment processors for subscription billing, and hosting infrastructure providers. Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to maintain your authentication session (JWT tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Essential cookies may be used for security purposes such as rate limiting.
